If you have a Spenmo account with a user wallet, you are able to set up 2FA for your account.
Spenmo uses Google Authenticator for the 2FA. If you don't have the app yet, please install the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone. You can download the app on:
- App Store (iOS)
- Google Playstore (Android)
1. To Activate 2FA
1. Log into your Spenmo dashboard.
2. Go to 'Security Hub' by clicking on the icon on the lower left side of your screen.
3. Press down the 'Activate' button.
4. Click 'Activate Google Authenticator'.
5. Enter a 6-digit code sent to your registered phone number.
6. Follow the instruction on your screen to scan the QR code on your Google Authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code generated by the app. Then click 'Activate Google Authenticator'.
2. To Login Using 2FA
1. Key in your credentials to log into your Spenmo dashboard.
2. You will be instructed to enter a 6-digit code on the available field. Please check on your Google Authenticator app to see the generated code. You will be directed to your dashboard homepage after entering the 6-digit code.
3. To Deactivate 2FA
1. Follow the above steps until you reach the 'Security Hub' page, then click on 'Deactivate'.
2. There will be a pop-up warning once you click the button, if you decide to go through with the deactivation, click 'Deactivate Google Authenticator'.
3. Enter a 6-digit code sent to your registered phone number. You will receive a message confirming that your 2FA is deactivated after entering the code.
Note:
- If your account is without wallet and you haven't registered your phone number yet, please reach out to our Support to be able to set the 2FA.
- Users who enter 2FA wrong five times in a row will be locked out for 30 mins.
- Currently, the 2FA feature is available on the Spenmo dashboard only.
- If you lost your phone, please reach out to our Support and we'll disable the 2FA for you.
