How to Avoid Card Fraud

Spenmo is equipped with safety features to keep your transactions secure. Below are the steps you can take to ensure safe transactions with your Spenmo Cards.

Set a Spending Limit

You can add a Spending Limit to each of your Spenmo Cards. In doing so, each Card can only be used for transactions up to the allocated amount. For more information on how to set a Spending Limit, click here.  

Set a Merchant Lock

Setting a Merchant Lock will enable you to limit the merchants allowed for your Cards. This means that the Cards will only work for merchants enabled in the Merchant Lock and cannot be used elsewhere. For more information on how to set a Merchant Lock, click here.  

Set a PIN (Indonesian users only)

Setting a PIN for your Spenmo Card helps add an extra layer of security when it comes to offline transactions and ATM withdrawals. For more information on how to set a PIN, click here.  

Keep your online transactions secure

Always make sure that the website you are transacting on is secure. Card frauds often happen on fake transaction websites posing as banks, service providers, or stores that require personal information. Before using your Card for online transactions, verify the site’s security and make sure the URL is authentic. 

Keep your personal and card information safe

Your identity is one of your most valuable assets, so it is important that you take careful steps to ensure its protection. Exercise caution and avoid disclosing Card numbers, login details (e.g. OTP) or any confidential data related to your Spenmo Cards over the phone or through text messages.

Review your Monthly Billing Statement

Always look through your monthly statement to check for suspicious account activity. Unauthorized charges are a sure sign of Card fraud. If you encounter any unauthorized transaction on your account, immediately report it to our Customer Service.
